The Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium will host the Hockey World League Round One Tournament with four nations namely Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Namibia slugging it out to determine the male and female teams that will progress and qualify to the International Hockey Federation (FIH) World Cup in 2018.
Ghana’s female team the Black Sticks will take on their Nigerian counterparts in the opening fixture while the male team cross sticks with Namibia later in the day.
The 3-day tourney dubbed “Make Your Mark” would have female and male teams of competing nations aiming for qualifications to the next round of the League to be hosted in Spain and Bangladesh respectively in 2017
