The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah on behalf of Government and the people of Ghana, has sent a goodwill message to the Senior National Football team, the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of their qualifying match for the 2014 World Cup Tournament against Sudan on Friday 7th June, 2013.
A Press Release signed by Michael Frimpong, Head of Public Relations, on behalf of the Minister, stated that the message would be delivered personally by the Minister, Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah to the team.
The Minister, according to the Release, commends the Players, technical and management teams of the Black Stars for the gallant performance they put up against Sudan on Sunday, 24th March, 2013 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and urges them to sustain the momentum in the upcoming return match against Sudan in order to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“The Black Stars should be mindful of Zambia’s lead in Group D, for this reason, it is imperative that we win this and the remaining matches to place Ghana in a better position to qualify for the 2014 World Cup” the Hon. Minister said.
The technical and management teams have also been urged to continue to work hard to ensure that the team is better conditioned for the games ahead.
Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah finally calls on every Ghanaian to remember the Black Stars in their prayers as they go into their matches.
