The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports has encouraged the heads of the various Youth Organizations under the ministry to bring back volunteerism and selfless service in the activities of the youth.

Hon. Joseph Yammin bemoaned the fact that the practice of youth volunteerism has been abandoned over the years. He therefore asked the leaders to inculcate the tendencies of self respect, discipline and hard work in the activities of the Youth.

The Deputy Minister said this when he met with the Youth Organizational Leaders in his office.

The meeting provided a platform for the leaders to brief the Deputy Minister on their activities and highlight the needed support necessary to enhance their activities. 

Organizations that participated in the meeting included the Ghana Red Cross Society, Ghana Scout Association, Boys’ Brigade Ghana, Head of State Awards Scheme Ghana, Ghana National Cadet, Young Men’s Christian Association and Girls’ Guild Ghana.

Revealing that he is a member of the 16th Company of the Boys’ Brigade. Hon. Joseph Yammin advised members of the Brigade to demonstrate their selfless service and commitment in the church by engaging in ushering duties.

The Hon deputy Minister  commended the leaders for holding forth the integrity of their various organizations and further promised to provide them with the necessary support.
