Ghana marked the 2013 International Youth Day with hosting of youth from all over the country by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama at the Flagstaff House in Accra.
The theme for this years celebration is “Youth Migration : Moving Development Forward”.
International Youth Day is held on August 12 each year. It was designated by the United Nations in 1999 by the adoption of Resolution 54/120.
It is meant as an opportunity for governments and others to draw attention to youth issues worldwide. Concerts, workshops, cultural events, and meetings involving national and local government officials and youth organizations take place around the world in honor of International Youth Day.
This year, as part of the President-Youth Dialogue series, youth from the ten regions of ghana and some youth groups were at the Presidency to interact with the President and outline some suggestions and concerns of youth across the country.
President Mahama said Government had allocated GHC 10 million for the Youth and Job Enterprises Fund.
