The Ghana Tennis Association (GTA) has been presented with a cash donation of US $10,000 by the McDan Shipping Company to assist the Association fulfill its obligations to the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

The donation was received by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, who in turn, immediately handed it over to the President of GTA, Mr Enoch Amartey.

The Managing Director of McDan, Mr Daniel Mckorley indicated that he was an avid tennis player who loved the sport and wanted to see tennis move up to another level in Ghana.

Mr Mckorley stated that he would soon institute a tennis tournament to identify and unearth the talents at the grassroots level.

Hon Afriyie-Ankrah expressed his gratitude to McDan for the donation and called on other corporate entities to do same.

He stated that such assistance would go a long way to aid the lesser-funded sporting disciplines.
