The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has led a delegation of retired footballers, and managers from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in a very solemn ceremony, in a quest for ‘atonement’ on the part of all past footballers who had served Ghana and were not adequately rewarded by the nation.

The delegation, which was at the Royalhouse Chapel International, situate at the Obetsebi Lamptey Circle, Kaneshie, made a passionate appeal to the Church’s leadership and its members to intercede on the part of the Nation and on the part of administrators of the game, in asking for healing and cleansing for those whose hearts were bruised and also for the current team as they embark on their world cup journey in Brazil 2014.

The Minister, in a short speech, reiterated the commitment of the Nation to appeasing the aggrieved former stars. He promised that in as much as he could not point out exactly what the nation will offer to these former stars, they will be given their due.
