The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Gong Jianzhong has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah at his office on Wednesday 15th January, 2014.
The meeting was aimed at discussing bilateral relations between the two countries.
H.E. Jianzhong assured the Hon. Minister of the Chinese government’s commitment to the development and promotion of sports in Ghana. The Ambassador mentioned that the Cape Coast Sports stadium is one very important project to his government and agreed to visit the site with the Hon. Minister next month.
Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah thanked the Ambassador and the Chinese government for their continuous support for Sports in Ghana. He indicated that sports is the passion of the people of Ghana so his Ministry was putting together a proposal for the Chinese Government’s support.
The Minister also proposed for an exchange program in sports where the two countries will support the other in disciplines which any of them has a competitive advantage.
