An Australian-born Ghanaian, Joshua Kweifio-Okai, who turned down the chance to play for the Australian national team, in favour of Ghana, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah on 15th January 2014 at his office.  

Joshua, who currently plays for the Richmond Soccer Club in the Victoria Premier League in Australia, is in the country for a short holiday.

Receiving him, the Hon. Minister said that Ghana is looking for talents all over the world to play for the national teams but the selection of players was the prerogative of the national team coaches and the technical team.

He urged the player to be focused, disciplined and keep playing hard since selection into the national teams are very competitive.

Joshua Kweifio-Okai commended the Hon. Minister and Ghanaians for the warm reception given him since he arrived in Ghana with his father Dr. George Kweifio-Okai.

He promised the Minister that he would work hard to ensure that he becomes a household name and play for Ghana national team in the future.
