The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, on behalf of Government and the people of Ghana sends goodwill message to the National Under-20 Female Football team, the Black Princesses ahead of their 2nd leg FIFA Under-20 Female World Cup Qualifier match against their Equatorial Guinean counterparts on Sunday January 26, 2014 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In his message to the team, the Hon. Minister said the Black Princesses must put up an impressive performance and win convincingly since they fell short since they fell short in the first leg held a fortnight ago in Equatorial Guinea.
“Equatorial Guinea has been a very difficult opponent for the Black Princesses but I am confident that this time round the team will fly high the flag of Ghana by winning convincingly to qualify to the world cup. I urge you to emulate the hard work of the Black Stars by beating your opponents to qualify just as they have done.” The Hon. Minister said.
He commended the technical and management teams of the Black Princesses for their hard work so far and urged them to work extra hard to ensure that the team qualified for the world cup.
Finally, he appealed to the spectatoring public of Ghana to throng the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday and cheer the Black Princesses up to ensure an overwhelming victory. He also implored every Ghanaian to remember the team in prayers ahead of the match.
