The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mahama Ayariga has formally welcomed the newly appointed head coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars, Avram Grant at his offices today.

Hon. Ayariga expressed delight that Mr. Grant would not just to be the coach of the Black Stars but also would lend his technical expertise to all the national football teams.

He urged him to become the face of Ghana football in the world and assured him of the support of the Ministry to ensure that he succeeds and restores Ghana pedigree in football at the international level.

The Minister also indicated that he was happy the coach will be spending more time in the country thereby seeing to the development of football in Ghana.

Mr. Avram Grant expressed his delight to be in Ghana and indicated his readiness to fulfil the expectations of Ghanaians before his tenure ends.

He disclosed that Ghana had a lot of football talents adding that he knows a lot of Ghanaian footballers that would excel when called upon to play for any of the national teams.

Present were Mr. Fred Crentsil, Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA); Mr. George Afriyie, Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee; Adam Mukaila, Member, Black Stars Management Committee; and Saif Rubie, Advisor to Avram Grant.
