The Justice Dzamefe Commission of Enquiry set up to look into matters relating to the participation of the Black Stars at the World Cup in Brazil 2014 has finally presented their report to the President H.E John Dramani Mahama at the Flagstaff House in Accra Today.
Presenting the 400 page Report, the Chairman of the Commission, Justice Dzamefe said they were grateful to the President for the trust reposed in the commission. He said in the course of the inquiry, Eighty-Seven (87) persons have so far appeared before the Commission both in public and in camera as well as regional tours.
The Committee was set up by the President following public outcry on the early exit of the National Football Team, The Black Stars from the 2014 World Cup Tournament in Brazil.
The 3-Member Commission is made up of Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Justice of the Court of Appeal, Chairman; Moses Foh-Amoaning Esq., Lawyer and Sports Administrator, Member, and Kofi Anokye Owusu Darko, Sports enthusiast, Member.
Justice Dzamefe paid glowing tribute to other members of the Commission for their contribution, to Ernst and Young and other consulting firms for their free forensic audit and various sports administrators.
Receiving the report, President John Mahama was grateful to the Commission for the report and praised them for their high sense of patriotism .He thanked them and promised to work with the Commission to ensure all the recommendations are implemented.
The President later presented the report to the Attorney-General for study and advice. It was received by Hon.Dominic Ayine, Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.
Present at ceremony were Chief of Staff Mr. Ernest Debrah, Minister of Communications, Hon.Dr. Omane Boamah; Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah; Hon. Mahama Ayariga, former Minister of Youth and Sports. Also present were the Chief Director, Ministry of Youth and Sports and some officials of the Ministry.
