A forty-five (45) member delegation of the national disabled football team, the Black Giants, led by ther President, Daniel Arhin and some officials has called on the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, and Member of Parliament for Dormaa West, Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah at his office in Accra.
Receiving the delegation Hon Asamoah was happy for the visit and expressed his joy at the performance of the team during their curtain raiser match at the Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Hearts President Cup Match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Republic Day.
He told them that God has given specific talents to people and that their height should not be seen as a disability because the tallest person of one race could be the shortest in another race. Hon. Asamoah assured the team that they would be featured in future international games in Ghana. He also assured them of the Ministry’s support and presented a cash donation of three thousand Ghana cedis to the team.
Receiving the amount, the Vice-Chairman was greatful to the Deputy Minister and assured him that the money would be put to good use. The Head coach of the team, Emmanuel Armah Quaye, added that it was the first time had received support and appealed to the Deputy Minister for a bus to facilitate the ease of movement of the team.
