The British High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency John Benjamin has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon.Nii Lantey Vanderpuye at his office in Accra.

The visit of the High Commissioner was in connection with arrangements and preparations towards the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Edward, the Earl of WESSEX, KG GCVO to Ghana from 24th-26th may 2016.

The Earl of Wessex’s visit is at the invitation of the Head of State Awards Scheme (HoSA) of which President John Dramani Mahama is the Chief Patron.

Whilst in the country, Prince Edward would undertake a series of  programmes and activities in support of youth development and the transformation of young lives in the country.

The British High Commissioner briefed the Hon. Minister on the ternary of the Royal Visit and informed him that Prince Edward would be gracing a Durbar of Ga Chiefs to be held in his honour.

H.E. John Benjamin assured the Hon. Minister that he would inform him immediately should there be any change in the itinerary.

The Hon. Minister said he was highly honoured and assured the High Commissioner of maximum cooperation from his Ministry.

He said he was looking forward to the visit of Prince Edward in eager anticipation and wished him a successful visit.
