Ghana’s undefeated Lightweight boxer, Richard Commey has assured Ghanaians of his readiness to win the vacant IBF Lightweight title when he takes on another undefeated“tough” American Robert Easter on September 9, in Pennsylvania, USA.
The World Champion hopeful gave the assurance when his team, led by his trainer Carl Lawrence Lokko, called on the Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye at his office in Accra.
Richard Commey (24-0) is very optimistic of breaking the jinx of clinching a world title which seems to have eluded Ghanaian boxers for some time now. The 29-year-old boxing prodigy said he is very well prepared for the fight adding that his opponent either “kill him in the ring or forget the title”
Welcoming the boxer, the Sports Minister expressed the support of government and the people of Ghana as he takes a shot at a world title. He said government is fully aware of his exploits, having gone undefeated in all his fights and urged him to go into the ring with the thought that government and the people of Ghana are solidly behind.
Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye urged him to emulate Ghana’s past and present great boxers, in his quest to achieve greatness in boxing.
