The Minister was hopeful that the “finest brains in our football administration’’ that have been selected in consultation with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) would be able to deliver a world class tournament on behalf of the country.

While counting on the LOC’s initiatives to deliver beyond expectations, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah also proposed for consideration the formation of sub-committees namely; Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Accommodation and Transport, Technical and Venue, Protocol and Ticketing, Security and Accreditation and Finance and Sponsorship as well as a special Ministerial Committee to be known as “Host and Win” Committee.

The Minister for Youth and Sports observed that the hosting of the AFCON Women’s Championship provides an excellent opportunity for Ghana to convince the world that the country is the preferred destination to organise and host international mega-sporting events.
