The Ministry of Youth and Sports on behalf of Government and the people of Ghana wishes our sole athlete Akwasi Frimpong the very best as he competes in this year’s Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang Korea.

The Ministry has taken note of the remarkable journey and exploits of Mr Frimpong in reaching this point to choose and compete for Ghana. We are also fully aware of your exemplary display of patriotism and pride in representing your country at this global showpiece.

As you step out of the blocks as Ghana’s and Africa’s only Olympic Skeleton athlete, we urge you to continue to “Dare to Dream” and ultimately be an invaluable inspiration to many other talents back home.
