The programme Manager at the Commonwealth Secretariat, Mr. Sushil Ram has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Asiamah.

Discussions were held on measures and steps taken by the Ministry through its agency, the National Youth Authority to review Ghana’s National Youth Policy.

Mr.Sushil Ram on behalf of the Commonwealth Secretariat announced the decision of the secretariat to support Government’s effort of reviewing the Youth Policy with a consultant, who will augment the stellar work done so far.

The consultant, Mr. Micheal Boampong will assist the National Youth Authority and all stakeholders to complete and relaunch a policy that captures the hopes and aspirations of the Ghanaian youth.

Ghana has also been selected to host a high-powered ministerial meeting for Youth Ministers in Africa later this year. The meeting enables government ministers and senior officials to share good practices, debate emerging issues, take stock of pioneering initiatives and forge new partnerships for resourcing youth development.

Present at the meeting was the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Curtis Perry Okudzeto, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Emmanuel Asigri ,Director of Human Resource of the National Youth Authority , Mr. Ekow Eshum and Consultant, Mr. Micheal Boampong.
