On 7th April, 2021, Members of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, at the Ministry to formally welcome him into office.
In his welcome remarks, the Hon. Minister expressed appreciation to the delegation and asked for intense collaboration with the Members to help in the development of football.
He was upbeat about the transformation of Ghana football considering the experiences and expertise of the Members of the council.
The Minister asked for the support of Members to assist in the revival of inter schools competition, help to win the 2022 AFCON Cup to end the trophy drought and help for the qualification of the 2022 World Cup Tournament by the Senior National team, the Black Stars.
The President of the GFA and leader of the delegation, Mr Kurt Okraku indicated that the Members were ready to provide their undiluted support to ensure that the Minister achieved his objectives for the sector.
He expressed gratitude to the Minister for accepting them warmly and pledged to find a winning formula to aid in the qualification of the Black stars to the 2022 World Cup Tournament in Quatar.
