Earlier today, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif (MP) welcomed members of the newly constituted Technical Committee for the African Games to Accra, Ghana. As we prepare to host the 13th African Games in March 2024, the Minister was quite impressed with the progress they have made so far.

Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, and the exceptional coordination of Her Excellency Ambassador Minata Samate Cessouma, Chairperson of the TCAG and AU Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs, and Social Development, we are embracing the spirit of unity and collaboration that Africa truly deserves.

He assured them of our dedication to organizing a remarkable event that highlights African unity, diversity, and growth, and our commitment extends beyond infrastructure. The Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government is investing heavily in world-class facilities such as the University of Ghana Sports Stadium and Games Village, and the facilities at Borteyman, among others.

The Minister also called for a unified effort from all stakeholders to ensure Ghana organizes a successful and historic African Games come 2024.
