- $100,000.00 was for the team made up of 14 athletes and 7 coaches.
- $50,000.00 was for Mr. Samuel Takyi for winning the bronze medal at the Olympics games in Japan.
-
- It is important to note that, the $50,000 meant for Mr. Samuel Takyi is categorized as follows:
- $10,000.00 for winning bronze medal
- $20,000.00 to procure a vehicle for him
- $20,000.00 to be invested in his personal development
- The $20,000 intended for his development was earmarked for Mr. Samuel Takyi’s long-term growth and advancement in the sport. A fund that would support his training, equipment, and other requirements to enable him reach his full potential as a boxer was established.
-
- This fund was not meant to be disbursed directly to Mr. Takyi but rather to be invested strategically in his development. This will ensure that the money serves its intended purpose and contributes to his journey to becoming an even greater athlete.
-
- Specifically, the Government of Ghana fulfilled its promise as indicated below:
- $10,000.00 was given to Mr. Samuel Takyi on 18th November, 2021.
- A Nissan Sunny vehicle worth $20,000 was presented to him by the Hon. Minister on 18th November, 2021.

- This approach for disbursement will not only secure Mr. Takyi’s future as a promising athlete but will also serve as a valuable precedent for the responsible allocation of resources to support the development of young talents in various sporting disciplines. Our commitment to nurturing and empowering our athletes remains unwavering.
- We firmly believe in the potential of our sports heroes, and we are committed to providing them with the necessary support and resources to excel. It’s important to remember that this fund will not be released for any other purpose aside from what it was intended for.
- It’s worth noting that many heroes in our society today face challenging circumstances because they never had the opportunity for such structured and long-term support. We aim to provide Mr. Takyi with the best possible foundation for a successful boxing career, and we look forward to witnessing his continued achievements on the international stage.
