The Golden Palms have once again proven their dominance, retaining the African Youth Championship title after an intense and challenging journey. Following their historic maiden win on home soil, the team faced mounting pressure to defend their crown.

Under the astute leadership of Head Coach Daniel Yaw Atiemo and Assistant Coach Daniel Obeng Asiamah, the team displayed exceptional resilience and unity. From finishing second to arch-rival Tunisia in the regional qualifiers to arriving last in Cape Town due to financial constraints, the Palms overcame every obstacle with grit and determination.

Despite the hurdles, including a tight budget that required coaches and captains to take on additional roles, the team’s focus never wavered. After a rigorous three-week camp to address weaknesses and refine strategies, they entered the tournament prepared to leave Cape Town as champions – just as they did in Cape Coast.

Their triumph is a testament to their hard work, the unwavering support of the Government, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Authority, the Ghana Olympic Committee, and all individuals and Eastern, Central and Volta Regional Chapters who contributed to this victory.

Thank you President Ernest Danso and the entire executives for all the unspoken sacrifices.

As the team shifts its focus to the global stage in Mexico, we say congratulations once again to the Golden Palms. Your victory is Ghana’s pride! Now, it’s time to make history on the world stage.

Long Live Ghana!
