MY DOORS ARE ALWAYS OPEN- SPORTS AND RECREATION MINISTER ASSERTS
The Hon. Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams engaged the staff of the Ministry upon officially assuming office on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Ministry.
In an address to welcome the Minister, the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. William Kartey assured him of the utmost cooperation and support of the staff of the Ministry towards the successful implementation of the policies that would be introduced by the Minister.
Addressing the staff, Hon. Adams expressed his delight in joining the Ministry and also stated that the strategic split of Youth from the Sports Ministry elevates the importance of recreation, which has always been a component of Sports.
He pointed out that the meeting was an opportunity to familiarize himself with the staff and key stakeholders while sharing the government’s vision for the sector. He went on to call on all the staff to work assiduously to enhance the productivity of the sports sector. He thus charged the staff to put all their political colours aside and work as hardworking civil servants to achieve Government’s objectives for the Sports and Recreation Ministry.
He assured all staff of his open-door policy and encouraged everyone to feel free to approach him to discuss anything bothering their progress and that of the sector. “I know you have your civil service channels of reporting but that doesn’t mean that when you have anything that needs the attention of the Minister you shouldn’t come” he stated.
The Director of Finance and Administration of the Ministry, Mr. Michael Esuon, on behalf of the staff of the Ministry expressed gratitude to the Minister and assured him that his colleague staff would deploy their experiences and expertise in order to ensure the success of the Minister’s vision.
The Minister was part of the over 17 Ministers of state recently appointed, vetted and sworn into office by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama.
