On Wednesday 26th February 2025, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) royal ladies’ hockey team presented to the Minister for Sports and Recreation the Africa Cup for club championship trophy they had retained a couple of weeks ago in their participation in the tournament held in Ismaila, Egypt.
Presenting the trophy, the Vice President of the Ghana Hockey Association, Mrs. Elizabeth King stated that, it was absolutely important to present the trophy and medals won at the championship to the Minister because the Minister motivated the team far away in Egypt with his message encouraging the team to go for the ultimate which eventually spurred the team on to victory.

She further expressed her gratitude to the Minister for the continuous support and pledged the cooperation of the Association to the development of sports.
She appealed to the Minister to consider providing some slots to the unemployed members of the team so that, when any recruitment opportunity arises in the near future they would be given the opportunity for selection.
The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams in his response noted that, there could not have been a better way to usher him into office as Minister of Sports and Recreation but to have made him that proud as the leader of the sector.
He indicated the demonstration of strength, tenacity and unity of the team and expressed his appreciation to the team for marketing Ghana in the international community with their wonderful performance at the Championship.
The Minister further commended the team for their excellent performance, remaining loyal to the sport and raising the flag of Ghana high thereby making Ghanaians proud.

He reiterated his commitment to the revival of grassroots sports and noted that the era of school sports will be reintroduced to strengthen the foundation of sports.
Apart from the team winning the overall trophy, Vivian Norkour was adjudged the best player as well as the top scorer of the tournament with Matilda Addsion winning the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
