YOUTH AND SPORTS MINISTRY TO UPGRADE KANESHIE SPORTS COMPLEX

As part of efforts to promote sports and youth development in the country, the ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) is set to upgrade the Kaneshie Sports Complex now Azumah Nelson Sports Complex.
To ensure this, an amount of GH¢1million is to be released for the upgrading of facilities at the Sports Complex.
This was made known when the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga and his deputy, Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah paid a working visit to the National Youth Authority (NYA) which is housed at the complex.
The delegation from the ministry inspected various facilities and field at the complex and also called on the management of the NYA.

MINISTER IMPRESSED WITH RtD ACADEMY

The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga, has stated that his ministry is taking steps to create football academies based on Right to Dream (RtD) Academy model, which combines football and formal education, across the 10 regions of the country.

The new minister revealed that yesterday when he paid a working visit to the Right to Dream Academy at Old Akrade to familiarise himself with the operations of the private football academy.

During and interaction with the management of the academy and the media, Mr Ayariga said he was impressed with the facilities and the organisational structure of the academy.

THE CHINESE AMBASSADOR TO GHANA CALLS ON THE MINISTER FOR YOUTH AND SPORTS

 

dscn5426The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Sun Baohong paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mahama Ayariga at his office on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 to discuss how the two countries can collaborate in the areas of Youth and Sports development.
 
H.E. Baohong reiterated Ghana’s long standing relationship with her country and said her government was ready to deepen that relationship, especially in the field of Sports and Youth development.

Hon Mahama Ayariga Takes over as Minister for Youth and Sports

The Minister for Youth and Sports,Hon. Mahama Ayiriga has assumed full official duties at the Ministry. This was after the out going Minister, Elvis Afriyie -Ankrah, who has b

een reassigned as a Minister of State at the Presidency, presented his handing over notes to him.

Also at the same function, the outgoing Deputy Minister, Hon.JOSEPH YAMMIN, who has  been reassigned as the Deputy Minister to the Ashanti Region also handed over to the incoming Deputy Minister,Hon.Vincent Oppong Asamoah.

The Ministry of Youth & Sports, in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has invited about sixty (60) Eminent Football Administrators to a 2 days Retreat on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th July, 2014 at 10am prompt at the Premier Best Western Hotel in the Airport Residential Area of Accra.

This Group of Eminent Football Administrators is made up of personalities with acclaimed experience in both the field of play and football management and administration in Ghana and abroad.

THE NATIONAL UNION OF GHANA STUDENTS SUSPENDS ITS DECISION TO GO TO COURT OVER GET FUND ISSUES

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has suspended its decision to go to court over GET Fund issues after a meeting with the National Youth Authority (NYA).
NUGS had threatened to drag government to court over what it says is the poor management of the GET Fund.

ZENITH BANK DONATES TO GHANA’S WORLD CUP CAMPAIGN PROJECT

Ghana’s preparation towards a very successful participation at the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil took a giant step when the Ministry of Youth and Sports received a donation of GH¢ 230,000.00 from Zenith Bank.

The donation, which is seed money for the Ghana’s Brazil 2014 World Cup Campaign Project, makes Zenith the official partner bank of the Campaign Project.
