The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif on Thursday, December 9, 2021 adviced the Ghana Body Building and Fitness Association ( GBFA) and other sporting federations to endeavour to present their plan and programs of activities ahead of time for the Ministry to make adequate preparations before they embark on any assignment.
He said this, when the Association presented two Gold medals , two silver medals and three bronze medals to him they won in their participation at the just ended Arnold Classic African Championship in South Africa.
According to him, government is open to all sports and the Ministry would ensure equitable distribution of the little resources available to all the federations recognized by National Sports Authority.
“The challenges with the federations are that, they wait for 3 weeks to 1 week to a tournament before writing to us,” Mustapha Ussif said.
Mr. Charles Owusu Ansah, the leader of the delegation who doubles as the vice President of GBFA said, the Association did well in the Arnold Classic African Championship competition in South Africa.
” We are here to present the trophies, Medals and also introduce ourselves to you as a federation and share problems confronting the GBFA” he stated.
According to him, two Ghanaian Athletes who were part of them are now professional Body Builders and appealed to the Minister to turn his attention to the sport for support.
On his part, the President of the Association, Mr Abdul Hayye Yartey, pleaded for more support to enable the GBFA team chalk more successes for the country.
