MANDATE

In line with Sections 11 and 13 of the Civil Service Law 1993 (PNDCL 327), the Ministry of Youth and Sports by Executive Instrument (EI) 12 of the Civil Service Ministries Instrument 2021, is mandated to initiate and formulate Youth and Sports policies as well as coordinate, evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of the sector to achieve national integration and international recognition

MISSION

The Ministry of Youth and Sports exists to provide effective leadership in the formulation, co-ordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Youth and Sports development policies and foster greater public-private sector participation for national and international integration.

About MOYS

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has since the first Republic undergone several changes in its structure and functions to reflect the policy directions of the incumbent Government.

In 1978 the Ministry was re-designed for only sports headed by a Commissioner for Sports, who was directly responsible to the then Head of State of the Republic.
