Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Nesrin Bayazit has paid a courtesy call on the Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah to congratulate him on his assumption of office as well as ensure the ratification of a Sports Development Agreement signed between Ghana and Turkey in March last year under the previous Government.

The Ambassador indicated that the ratification of the agreement would go a long way in developing sports in the country while strengthening the cordial relationship between the two countries.

‘’Ghana is at a good location with good credentials and my country is ready to extend its expertise in the area of sports development.’’ She added.

The Hon. Minister welcomed the Ambassador and lauded her for following up on the Agreement. Hon. Asiamah expressed government’s gratitude to Turkey for their continuous developmental assistance to Ghana over the years.

‘’Ghana has benefitted from Turkey in the Aviation, Energy and other sectors in the country ‘’. He noted.
Hon. Isaac Asiamah reiterated government’s commitment towards youth empowerment stressing on the need to provide funding to retool the Youth Training Centers across the country.

The Youth and Sports Minister again emphasized on the need for a Youth Development Authority to coordinate all scattered youth programmes in the country to track their progress.
